No luck
It seems someone else's story got posted to slashdot. They had some more background that I did not but the thing is I broke the story first to the page but alas. Is til got a +4 funny post so my /. karama may be recovering from my one offtopic and the post that was incorrectly modded flamebait. How is first post flame bait. Looks like some moderator wanted that post and lost it so moderated me down.

In now seems that Google is now offering free software on there home page. There have a link to download a new piece of software called Picasa. Picasa is a free software package that lets you organize and find pictures on your PC. It seems google is becoming more and more interested it organizing our personal data first with our e-mail now with our pictures. Could this be the sign of google finally brining there search technology to the desktop?

When The Internet Goes Down
What do you do when the internet goes out.
Well today I have to find out.
My dad woke me up with the modem line in his hand.
The dsl system had switched so he need to go pick up a new one at win.net. He would drop of he old one and pick up the new one on the way to a meeting. This of course leaves me with no internet access. Till he gets back. I could use the dial up access but the problem is that I have never configured the dial-up. And all the access number are on the web. I remember one reeding an article on the screen savers when there internet went down. They all did different things. Well i going to document what I shall do on this day with out internet. Or at least till i can get some sort of net connection going.

Well I am begin with watching the movie "the saint"

Having seen this movie quite a few time I moved thought the line up

I landed on an episode of The Next Generation
The episode in which Q's powers get taken away.
Quite a good one I watched it the whole

I went to the kitchen and eat some potato salad. While watching star trek.

I returned to my room to finish of the episode

Since star trek was over I switched back to the saint. I always found the end be the best part.

Since the saint is over I start cleaning up my hard drive

I had finished cleaning out the hard drive. So i turned the tv back on and started to watch the invisable man moview

I remembered that i had yet to watch season 5 of sg-1 on dvd so I watched that till my dad gets home and I get back online.
I learned more about my self in those hours then i had in many years. I truly am addicted to the internet. I am addicted to information itself. I would flip during commercials to a news channel and not know what was going on because I had not logged on to the news sites. I had not click refresh since 3 that morning. I felt lost with out the internet.
When the internet came back on it was if a light inside me that had been put out that morning had suddenly been turned back on.

I hate the DEA
Today I woke and I felt nothing
I was emotionally numb then
I thought of matthew and sorrow filled my mind
Later on in the day I went to the visitation.
It helped allot seeing matthew.
He seemed strangely normal. (He must just be in the stage where he just feels numb)
He wanted to go eat at the bristol.
So a group of us went to eat at the bristol.

It was one of the few social gathering I have ever been too
And it was my first "dinner with friends" experience
I have to say that I enjoyed it quite much.
I know understand that perhaps sitting in ones room for hour and hour is not such a good idea.
And that the outside world can offer thing that the world inside can not
Well if everyone would upgrade to the video version of aim and let me video conference it would be different.
This world in which I live has limitless possibilities. I choose to connect to through the internet. I connect to the web and many other layers. I like to read on the news group to watch the irc chats go by. i never seem to take part. I am merely a watcher.
I am like al. from the tv show "quantum leap". I am like a hologram observing the lives of others and helping but not interacting my self. The volunteer project that I am soon going to start should allow me to help the world it a little broader way.
I shall not revel my plan just yet because I do not want it to be taken by another person.
