I have no problem with notes.
I have no idea with "notes" in themselves. I just have a problem that a time is set aside where they become excepted. I like writing notes. I just have problems when a good idea has to be shoved in to a nice little slot. When something is excepted it loses half its value at least in my mind.

As much as I love writing notes during retreat, I like your arguement a lot. Actions, and face-to-face words should preside over these notes.
"I just have problems when a good idea has to be shoved in to a nice little slot." I have often applied that idea to APs and their purpose. How fun and comprehendable can something be when we are forced to rush through it?
And as to the anonymous person who wrote a response to your previous entry, they probably read your post the wrong way. Your version of stupid may not be the same as theirs. Even though you have a very convincing and likeable arguement, I actually agree with their's.
"If writing notes is a stupid idea, why write letters? Why give presents?" When it comes right down to it, notes are a Collegiate thing the same way that gifts are a cultural, and moreover, human thing. When you think about the caveman, you think he would have told someone how he felt in person, instead of being able to write it down or something. Et voila.

Wow. From that alone I can tell exactly who this person is. Allow me to take apart this post point by point in order to show just how incredibly useless the idea really is.

Well, you dumbass, APs aren't supposed to be fun, and if they aren't comprehendable, then you're in the wrong class. Its a college level course where you have to work fast.
That being said, let me return to the original post. Robert, the only reason that you hate "shoving an idea into a nice little slot" is because you can't think of any. Let me explain. You can't think of any new imaginative ideas **THAT PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT**, so you complain about the restrictions placed on your oh-so-great mind. Please. Be honest with yourself.
Now about this "If notes are a stupid idea blah blah blah" A 5 second note written during a retreat where few people are having fun is different than a gift bought (or otherwise acquired) for one's birthday, for example? If you can't see the difference there, than you really are... er... >_>
Just be honest with yourself. You'll be much happier.
jeez, that guy was a dick
